The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence.

Our services focus on prevention, restoration and healing, providing specialised support to address immediate safety needs and assist victim survivors on their recovery journey.

About the role

We are seeking a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner who brings empathy, resilience and a deep commitment to supporting women and children. In this role, you will provide outreach case management to adult and child victim‑survivors; meeting them where they are, listening without judgement, helping them feel safe, empowered and heard.

Your presence will be central to delivering high‑quality, trauma‑informed responses that honour each person’s story and strengthen their wellbeing.

This is a fixed‑term full‑time role (contracted for 12 months), with part‑time arrangements (0.8 FTE negotiable), based in Windsor, VIC.

Conditions

Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Level 5.

How you will make an impact

- Empowering relationships by building trusting, respectful relationships that uphold the National Family Violence Model of Care
- Holistic case management to provide thoughtful, consistent support aligned with TSA models and best practice
- Safety‑centred assessment by assessing needs,



risks and circumstances from intake through to exit
- Cooperative planning to work alongside clients to develop case plans that reflect their goals and strengths
- Connection and advocacy through support of clients to access community resources, build networks and navigate services
- Accurate documentation to maintain clear, timely records that support safe and effective service delivery

What you will bring

- A tertiary qualification in Social Work
- Demonstrated experience in case management within family violence or community services
- Strong understanding of family violence frameworks, risk assessment and trauma‑informed practice
- Advanced computer skills, including experience with data and record management systems
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- An Employee Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
