Blackfriars is seeking passionate and dedicated Reception Teacher to join our team on a fixed-term contract commencing Mid-Term 3, 2026 and concluding at the end of Term 4, 2026.
Reception Teacher - Full Time
FTE: 1.0
Note: There may be the possibility of ongoing employment, subject to operational needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will be expected to:
- Plan and deliver creative and stimulating lessons that cater to the individual needs and interests of Reception-aged children.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to ensure each child reaches their full potential.
- Establish robust partnerships with parents and caregivers to support children's learning and development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel valued and supported.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and enriching curriculum that promotes holistic development.
Requirements:
- Experience working with Reception-aged children preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
- Knowledge of early years curriculum and best practices in early childhood education.
- Demonstrated understanding of child development and early years pedagogy.
- Ability to create engaging, play-based learning experiences that support academic, social and emotional development.
- Experience using assessment data to inform teaching and monitor student progress.
- Commitment to fostering positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
Essential Qualifications
- Recognised teaching qualifications enabling registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
- Current Teacher Registration in South Australia.
- Current Working With Children Check.
- Current RRHAN-EC certification.
- Current First Aid accreditation.
- Timely completion of online WHS, code of conduct and child protection modules as requested.
