The Role
We are seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this position offers the chance to take ownership of Warrikal's Accounts Payable function. Working within a small, collaborative Finance team alongside experienced subject matter experts, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of accounts payable operations while contributing to continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct matching to purchase orders and receipts
- Prepare payment runs in accordance with company payment terms and maintain accurate account coding
- Maintain vendor accounts, resolve invoice discrepancies and build strong supplier relationships
- Assist with month-end activities, including reconciliations, accruals and employee expense processing
- Supervise, mentor and support a small Accounts Payable team to achieve high performance
- Prepare reports, analyse AP data and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies
- Assist with finance system implementations, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
- Respond to internal stakeholder enquiries while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
About You
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience in an Accounts Payable or similar accounting role
- Pronto ERP experience is highly desirable
- Previous experience leading or supervising an Accounts Payable team
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience within mining, construction, maintenance, contracting or project-based environments is highly regarded
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
