Permanent Full-Time An exciting opportunity has opened for an Intermediate Estimator to join a growing construction business with a strong pipeline of work and an ambitious plan to expand into new sectors. This is a great opportunity for an estimator with 4+years' experience , particularly someone who has built their career around retail construction and is ready to take greater ownership of tenders from start to finish. The business has a strong reputation across the retail sector and is continuing to grow, with a current pipeline of approximately $200M and around 12 live projects underway.

The Role

Reporting into the Estimating Manager and working as part of an established estimating team, you'll be involved in pricing a wide range of projects, with the opportunity to take ownership of your own tenders.

You will be responsible for:

- Managing tenders from initial documentation through to submission.
- Reviewing architectural, structural, civil, services and consultant documentation.
- Preparing detailed estimates and cost plans.
- Completing quantity take-offs and pricing.
- Reviewing project scope, specifications and documentation.
- Identifying potential risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders.
- Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Comparing and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Working closely with the Estimating Manager and wider construction team throughout the tender process.
- Managing your own tenders when required, while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.




- Assisting with value engineering and identifying alternative solutions where appropriate.
- Preparing accurate and commercially competitive tender submissions.
- Supporting the business through the tender handover process once projects are secured.

You'll have the opportunity to work on projects ranging from approximately $5M-$50M , with a number of upcoming projects sitting around the $20M mark .

Your Background

We're specifically looking for an estimator with:

- 4+ years' estimating experience within commercial construction.
- Strong experience across retail construction.
- Experience estimating projects such as:
- Large-format retail
- Big-box retail
- Supermarkets
- Shopping centres
- Retail rollouts
- Large commercial fit-outs

- Strong understanding of the construction process across architectural, structural, civil and services packages.
- Experience taking tenders from start to finish, rather than only working on individual estimating packages.
- Strong subcontractor and supplier engagement skills.
- Good commercial understanding and attention to detail.
- Experience with Cubit is essential.




- The ability to confidently manage your own tenders while working collaboratively with the wider estimating and construction team.

The business has traditionally specialised heavily in retail construction , delivering projects across some of Australia's largest retail brands.

Typical project values range from $5M-$50M , with a solid pipeline of projects around $20M+ currently coming through.

The business is also entering an exciting growth phase, looking to expand its project portfolio into sectors including:

- Education
- Health
- Commercial
- Other major construction sectors

This means you'll be joining at a point where there is already a strong retail foundation, while having the opportunity to gain exposure to new sectors as the business continues to grow.
