About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Carpenter or Shopfitter who enjoys being on the tools while taking ownership of a build.
This isn't a foreman's role where you stand back and supervise. You'll be working alongside the team every day while leading the build, planning the workflow, solving problems and keeping projects moving from start to finish.
You'll be trusted to interpret drawings, organise the build sequence, coordinate with the team and make practical decisions without needing constant direction.
Around 70% of your time will be based in our Mulgrave workshop, with the remaining 30% spent on installations across Melbourne and occasionally interstate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and shape the day-to-day build — in the workshop and on-site.
- Interpret technical drawings and turn them in to finished projects.
- Build alongside the team while setting the standard for workmanship and productivity.
- Collaborate with project managers to solve build challenges.
- Liaise confidently with clients, contractors & venue staff during installations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop safety.
- Operate workshop machinery (CNC, panel saw, etc.).
What We’re Looking For
- We're looking for someone who naturally takes ownership.
- You don't wait to be told every next step. You think ahead, solve problems as they arise and take pride in delivering work to a high standard.
- Trade qualification in Carpentry or Shop Fitting
- Strong experience in both workshop fabrication and on-site installation
- Confident running a job in the workshop and on sites
- Excellent attention to detail and able to solve problems independently
- Comfortable taking ownership of a build and leading a small team
- Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings
- White Card essential; EWP and/or Forklift license a bonus
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport

Salary of $110,000 – $120,000 (inclusive of super)
