Electrical Workshop Leading Hand/Supervisor - MACKAY/9-Day Fortnight P.I. Technical Services • The Leap, Queensland, Australia
P.I. Technical Services is a Mackay-based electrical contractor serving the Bowen Basin mining sector, with a strong focus on the overhaul and repair of explosion-protected (Ex) and IP-rated equipment. We’re after an experienced electrician to step into a leading hand and supervisor role on our workshop floor, running the work, mentoring the team, while getting on the tools when required.
Mackay-based, 9-day fortnight with a rostered day off. No FIFO, home every night.
The role
This is a hands‑on role. You’ll be on the tools for most of your time while also leading the floor:
- Supervising and coordinating the workshop team and apprentices
- Keeping jobs scheduled and moving though the workshop
- Mentoring apprentices and less experienced hands
- Owning safety and quality on the floor
- Coordinating materials and equipment to keep work running

For the right person, this role leads into workshop management over time. We’re building for the future of the workshop, so there’s a clear path to step up as you prove yourself.
What you’ll need
- Experience in the mining sector, underground or surface (valued)
- AS/NZS 3800 explosion‑protected equipment overhaul experience (desirable)
- The ability to lead a team and bring apprentices along
- Solid focus on safety, quality and doing the job right
