About ACT Health Centre
Home to the Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The Health Centre opened mid-2022 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles.
Standard hours of operation are generally Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
Whatyou’lldo
- Delivernursing care to Defence personnel under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Provide outpatient care, and where required support inpatient care within a health centre or hospital setting
- Administer medications (where endorsed) in line with legislative requirements and clinical protocols
- Assistwith patient assessments, treatmentplansand health promotion activities
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe,efficientand high-quality care
What you bring
- Currentunconditional and unrestricted AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2)
- Minimumtwoyears’ post registration nursing experience in acute care, primaryhealthcareor similarsettingwithin the last five years
- Medication endorsement (if applicable to role requirements)
- Commitment to clinical governance, infectioncontroland high-quality patient care
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
- Australian Citizenshiprequired(baseline security clearance)
- Commitment to CPD and ongoing professional development
