Protea Place Women's Support Centre is seeking a passionate and experienced Women's Case Worker to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside skilled professionals who are committed to supporting women experiencing vulnerability, domestic and family violence, homelessness, and other complex social challenges.

About the Role

As a Women's Case Worker, you will provide high-quality, client-centred support to women accessing our services. Working as part of a small multidisciplinary team, you will deliver case management, crisis support, advocacy, and practical assistance while building strong partnerships across the local service system.

This role supports women experiencing a range of challenges, including domestic and family violence, homelessness, housing instability, financial hardship, and social isolation. You will work within a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework to assist women in achieving safety, stability, and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide case management and support to women experiencing a range of challenges, including domestic and family violence, housing instability, homelessness, financial hardship, and social isolation.

• Conduct client assessments and develop individual support plans.

• Deliver crisis intervention, support, and referral services.

• Assist women to access housing, legal, financial,



healthcare, counselling, and community support services.

• Advocate on behalf of clients to achieve positive outcomes.

• Work from a trauma-informed, client-centred and strengths-based framework.

• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with local services and stakeholders.

• Maintain accurate case notes, records, data collection, and reporting requirements.

• Participate positively within a small, supportive, and collaborative team.

About You

You are an experienced and compassionate practitioner who can effectively support women facing complex life circumstances while maintaining a skilled and client-focused approach.

You will demonstrate:

• Experience in case management and supporting vulnerable women.

• Strong assessment, engagement, and advocacy skills.

• Knowledge of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.

• An understanding of domestic and family violence, homelessness, and related support systems.

• The ability to work calmly, effectively, and flexibly in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• A commitment to empowering women and achieving positive client outcomes.

• The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.





Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Diploma qualification in Community Services, Human Services, Social Sciences, Social Work, or a related discipline.

• Minimum three years demonstrated experience in case management, community services, crisis support, housing and homelessness, domestic and family violence, or related sectors.

• Current Driver Licence.

• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain.

• Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

Highly Regarded

Experience working in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:

• Domestic and Family Violence Services

• Housing and Homelessness Programs

• Women's Support Services

• Crisis Centres
