The Role
The primary purpose of the position of the Workforce Planning Lead is to be the principal specialist for FRV in workforce planning by leading and coordinating the strategy. The role will work with the executive and present to ELT and the Board on workforce demographics, lead the workforce planning strategy and recommend to the organisation strategic interventions for the organisation to ensure that its capability needs are met.
The Workforce Planning Lead will also research and analyses workforce and sector best practice trends to develop, implement, maintain workforce planning strategies, plans, processes and tools that forecast short to long term supply and demand to meet the current and future resourcing needs for a high performing organisation.
Functional Accountabilities
- Facilitate and coordinate the collection and analysis of complex data to inform the development of workforce planning.
- Conduct gap analysis to inform workforce planning strategy development and mitigate organisational risks.
- Lead and develop workforce planning models and tools to track and forecast resource levels, inform talent acquisitions and skills development programs to optimise organisational resourcing and capabilities.
- Lead and develop workforce planning strategies to meet the current and future resourcing needs.
The Team
The People and Culture Directorate take a lead role in strategy development and implementation to enable Fire Rescue Victoria to have a safe workplace, a respectful and achievement-oriented culture, and an agile and engaged workforce. The key functions of the directorate are Human Resources Systems and Services, Workplace Relations and Ethical Standards, Organisational Development and Business Partnering, and Media and Communications.

What you will need to Succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Commerce, Science, Mathematics or related field.
- Membership of AHRI or workforce planning body desirable.
- Working knowledge of workforce planning, including the delivery of strategic advice to executive and board level.
- Technical capability demonstrated experience in a relevant discipline.
