This role holds accountability for project delivery, contractor performance, project controls, commercial outcomes and delivery assurance. You will ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently and in alignment with approved scope, schedule, budget, quality standards and broader business objectives.
Operating within a lean owner’s team model, you will integrate internal stakeholders, specialist engineering partners, consultants, contractors and operational teams. You will build and lead the integrated project team, coordinate delivery resources across the approved portfolio and support the Company’s long-term growth strategy.
Role requirements
You will lead the safe and successful delivery of Cyprium Metals’ capital project portfolio and translate approved project sequencing and investment decisions into integrated, practical and appropriately resourced delivery plans.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering approved projects in accordance with agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality and business objectives.
- Establishing integrated execution plans across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness.
- Coordinating project interfaces throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Managing brownfield interfaces and project activities while protecting the safety, reliability and continuity of operating assets.
- Driving disciplined execution, accountability and timely decision-making.
- Ensuring projects transition safely and efficiently into operations.
- Identifying portfolio-level resource constraints, competing priorities and delivery dependencies.
- Escalating emerging delivery issues early so they can be resolved in a timely and practical manner.
- Coordinating delivery capacity and resources across the approved capital portfolio.
Project controls and delivery assurance
You will lead an integrated approach to project controls, governance and delivery assurance across the portfolio.
This will include:
- Leading project controls across schedule, cost, risk, change management and reporting.
- Ensuring project execution aligns with Cyprium Metals’ project delivery framework and governance requirements.
- Establishing and maintaining approved scope, cost and schedule baselines for each project.
- Maintaining accurate project forecasts, critical path analysis and delivery reporting.
- Monitoring commitments, expenditure, cash-flow forecasts, contingency usage and forecast cost at completion.
- Identifying emerging risks, constraints, performance concerns and recovery opportunities.
- Preparing project evidence, recommendations and readiness assessments for decision gates and assurance reviews.
- Providing timely, accurate and practical reporting to support Executive and Board decision-making.
Contractor & Commercial Management
As the owner’s lead representative, you will provide clear direction and accountability across contractors, consultants and delivery partners.
You will:
- Lead contractor performance across safety, quality, schedule, cost, productivity and delivery outcomes.
- Establish collaborative and high-performing contractor relationships while maintaining commercial discipline.
- Review contractor execution plans, resource strategies, forecasts and recovery plans.
- Coordinate work packages to reduce interface risk and improve delivery efficiency.
- Provide project delivery input into procurement, packaging and contracting strategies.
- Support appropriate allocation of scope, commercial responsibility and interface risk.
- Work closely with procurement and commercial teams during contractor selection, contract execution and performance management.
- Support the management of variations, claims, performance issues and contractual remedies.
- Protect Cyprium Metals’ commercial position throughout project delivery.
- Confirm contractor progress claims and forecasts are supported by verified physical progress and approved scope.
Project planning and execution
You will provide strong delivery leadership during front-end loading and ensure projects are sufficiently developed before major commitments are made.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring scope definition, constructability, work packaging and execution risks are developed to an appropriate level.
- Coordinating engineering, procurement and construction activities throughout delivery.
- Integrating long-lead procurement, construction sequencing and commissioning readiness into project plans.
- Ensuring statutory approvals, permits, critical inspections and compliance requirements are identified early.
- Incorporating constructability, operability and maintainability into design and execution planning.
- Engaging operations, maintenance, safety and commissioning representatives in design reviews and execution planning.
- Supporting effective management of project scope, interfaces and change.
- Confirming projects have sufficient engineering maturity, scope definition, execution readiness and risk treatment before construction or major commitments commence.
Operational readiness and handover
Operational readiness will be embedded throughout project execution rather than treated as a final-stage activity.
You will be responsible for:
- Integrating operational readiness activities into project planning and execution.
- Engaging operational teams throughout planning, construction and commissioning.
- Coordinating commissioning, performance testing, start-up and asset handover.
- Establishing commissioning strategies, systems-completion requirements and acceptance criteria early.
- Ensuring operational documentation, training and maintenance information are complete before handover.
- Recording, assigning and closing defects, incomplete works and outstanding obligations.
- Delivering assets that are ready for safe, reliable and sustainable operation.
- Supporting post-implementation reviews.
- Confirming delivered assets are capable of achieving approved business-case outcomes.
Safety, risk and compliance
Visible safety leadership will be central to your approach.
You will:

The role requires strong engagement across internal functions and external delivery partners.
You will:
- Build effective relationships across Operations, Technical, Commercial and Corporate teams.
- Clearly communicate project performance, risks, decisions and recommended actions to the Chief Operating Officer.

- Creating an environment where risks, issues and performance concerns are raised early and discussed transparently.
- Developing internal project delivery capability through coaching and disciplined ways of working.
