ACCIONA is a global company, leading in the development of regenerative infrastructure that creates a positive impact on society. Our workforce consists of more than 65,000 professionals, present in more than 40 countries across the five continents, all contributing to our mission to design a better planet. Are you a passionate individual who wants to make a difference, promote sustainable development, and find solutions to the biggest global challenges, including climate change, overpopulation, and water scarcity? Come and join us in building the infrastructure our planet needs to achieve a sustainable future.

Take the lead on a landmark project in Rockhampton within a JV with two major contractors! We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to drive downstream procurement and subcontract management on a major construction project. Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager, you'll lead procurement strategy, subcontract procurement and negotiations, while managing commercial risk, contract administration, variations and claims.

This role offers flexibility to support the Rockhampton project from both the project site and our Brisbane corporate office, providing the opportunity to balance hands-on project involvement with connection to the broader business and commercial leadership team. For the right candidate, there will also be future opportunities to grow their career within the business beyond the scope of the advertised role.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead downstream procurement activities including tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation and subcontract award recommendations.

- Develop and implement procurement and subcontracting strategies to support project delivery objectives.
- Prepare, review, negotiate and administer subcontract agreements and other downstream contractual arrangements.
- Manage subcontractor commercial performance, including progress claims, variations, extensions of time, final accounts and contract close-out activities.
- Identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks across the project supply chain.
- Provide commercial and contract administration support and guidance to project teams.
- Manage variations, claims, disputes and contract compliance matters relating to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure project documentation, procurement records and contractual correspondence are maintained in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, cost control and commercial reporting activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and key stakeholders.

About You

- Degree qualification or equivalent considered in a related field - Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Commerce, Law, or similar.

- Extensive experience in construction procurement, subcontract management, contract administration and commercial management. 5+ years' experience is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes and commercial risk management.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractor agreements, variations, claims and dispute resolution.

This is an excellent chance to play a key role in the successful delivery of a major construction project while working within a collaborative and high-performing team. You'll also benefit from exposure to both project and corporate environments, with future opportunities to develop your career and contribute more broadly across the business.

*Please note that while this role is advertised by ACCIONA, employment may be offered through Fulton Hogan as the Joint Venture partner.

Desired Skills and Experience

Experienced Contracts Manager with 5+ years' experience in construction procurement, subcontract management, contract administration and commercial management. Strong expertise in downstream procurement, tendering, contract negotiations, commercial risk management, claims, variations, cost control and stakeholder engagement. Degree qualified or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Commerce, Law or a related discipline. Experience delivering commercial outcomes across major construction and infrastructure projects is highly regarded.
