What We Are Looking For

Are you passionate about customer service, safety and creating positive visitor experiences? We are seeking 2 Visitor Experience Specialist to be the welcoming face of the Hervey Bay Community Hub, providing frontline concierge, security and building support services. In this diverse role, you'll assist visitors, support building operations, respond to incidents and emergencies, and help ensure a safe, professional and welcoming workplace for our community. Working within the Property Works and Services team, you'll engage with a wide range of people while contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of one of Council's key public facilities.

What Your Day Will Look Like

- Welcome visitors and provide wayfinding, information and building access support
- Monitor visitor behaviour and assist with managing challenging situations using de-escalation techniques
- Conduct building patrols and support security and public safety procedures
- Assist with parking oversight and routine building operational activities
- Respond to emergencies, including evacuation support, first aid and incident response
- Maintain knowledge of building services, programs and procedures to enhance visitor experiences

What You’ll Need For Success

- CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations or similar
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Blue Card




- Valid Queensland Class C or CA Driver Licence
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours and apply effective de-escalation techniques
- Knowledge of security procedures, building access protocols and routine patrol practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement in dynamic situations

What’s Nice To Have

- Demonstrated experience in customer service, concierge or visitor-facing environments
- Diploma (AQF 5) or higher qualification in security, customer experience or a related field
- Experience working in community facilities, public venues or similar environments
