- Join the Roadwest Transport Equipment and Sales team in Bayswater
RoadWest Transport is one of Australia's leading manufacturers and suppliers of high-quality specialist tipping trailers and transport equipment.
We're currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our team in Bayswater.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assemble and install recent and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems;
- Assist Mechanical Engineers and the Engineering Team in the design of mechanical equipment and trailers;
- Collect, analyze data and prepare diagrams;
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to in day-to-day tasks and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions;
- Estimate material costs, quantities and machine requirements;
- Maintain job site costing (time/job cards)
and plant maintenance records;
- Organize, supervise inspection and maintenance of machines and plant;
- Oversee fitters to ensure mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies are installed as per plans and designs;
- Perform and direct field tests;
- Select appropriate tools and equipment for specific tasks for projects;
- Undertake special projects as instructed by the Workshop Manager/Department Supervisor or Company Directors;
- Work both in a team environment and without supervision;
- All other tasks as requested.
To be considered you will need a qualification relevant to being a Mechanical Technician and at least two years of relevant post qualification employment experience OR at least 3 years of relevant employment experience as a Mechanical Technician.
A remuneration package of $90,000 - $100,000 will be offered to the successful applicant. An immediate start is available.
