Position : Manager – Primary Design

Location : Doncaster, Victoria (Melbourne office)

Join an industry leader supporting Australia’s move towards a renewable energy future. You will play a key role in delivering high‑voltage substation projects that support the growth of Australia’s renewable energy and utility sectors.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the primary design of high‑voltage substations and associated infrastructure.
- Build and lead CPP’s newly created Victorian Primary Engineering and Design team.
- Lead and grow a team of engineers and drafters, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance environment.
- Ensure designs are practical, constructible and continually refined through real‑world feedback.
- Collaborate closely with construction and operations teams to deliver innovative, high‑quality solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or equivalent.
- Chartered status and BLA or ability to achieve upon commencement.
- 10+ years at a senior level, including substation design and/or utility grid connections.
- Proven experience in primary design and engineering, with knowledge of civil, structural, and overhead line design.
- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building and leading high‑performing, collaborative teams.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and client requirements.
- Experience with renewable grid connection projects in Australia.
- Based in Victoria or willing to relocate (relocation assistance available).
