The mission

Why this role exists

Repetitive work quietly drains capable people.

Your job is to find it, understand it, and replace it with automation that is reliable, inspectable, and leaves a human in control of the decisions that matter.

The work

What you'll work on

Workflow automations and internal tools that remove manual, repetitive operational work.

Integrations and data pipelines that connect the systems Aooma and its clients rely on.
AI-assisted operational systems with clear guardrails, logging, and rollback paths.

Practical tooling that makes the rest of the team faster and less error-prone.

Proof

What strong signal looks like

Automations or internal tools you have actually shipped and maintained.

Integrations between real systems (APIs, queues, databases, third-party services).
A clear write-up or demo of a manual process you replaced and the impact it had.

Day to day

Responsibilities

Identify high-friction manual processes and design dependable automations for them.

Build and maintain integrations, internal tools, and data pipelines.

Add monitoring, error handling, and secure failure modes to everything you ship.

Document how systems work so others can understand, inspect, and improve them.

What we need

Requirements

Strong programming ability in a general-purpose language (e.g.

Type

Script, Python, Go).

Experience building and operating automations or integrations in production.

Comfort working with APIs, data, and the failure modes of distributed systems.

Care for security, privacy, and keeping a human in control of consequential actions.

Bonus

Useful, but not required

Experience with AI-assisted automation or agent workflows.

Cloud / infrastructure experience (Cloudflare, AWS, GCP).
A track record of internal tooling that other people came to depend on.

Evaluation

How we evaluate

We focus on real systems you have built.

Expect to walk us through an automation or tool you shipped — what it does, why you designed it that way, and how it behaves when things go wrong.

Process

Interview process

01

Signal review

We review your application for evidence of thinking, craft, integrity, and alignment with Aooma's mission.

02

First conversation

A focused conversation about your work, how you think, what you want to build, and where you may fit.

03

Work sample or deep dive

Depending on the role, we may review existing work, ask for a practical exercise, or discuss a technical/design problem in depth.

04

Team alignment

We check whether there is a real role, project, or contribution path where your abilities can compound.

05

Offer or future signal

If there is a fit, we move forward.

If timing is not right, we may keep the signal warm for future roles.

Inclusion

Accessibility & adjustments

We want this process to be fair and practical for you.

If anything would help — written questions in advance, more time to think, an async first conversation — tell us in the application.

You never need to share a diagnosis or any medical detail.

Think this is you?

Send proof of how you think.

Credentials help.

Proof wins.
