We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Speech Pathologist to join our allied health team in Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory. This permanent, full-time role is essential for providing high-quality, culturally safe and responsible speech pathology services to our diverse population. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders, contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of our community.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding communication strategies and therapy techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Participate in professional development and training activities to enhance clinical skills.
- Advocate for patients’ needs within the healthcare system.
- Support and supervise staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology.
- Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on paediatric populations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team workplace.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
