The Role

We're looking for a Technical Support Specialist – Education to join our growing team in Perth.

In this role, you'll become a trusted technology partner for the schools you support. From resolving day-to-day technical issues to helping teachers make the most of classroom technology, you'll play an important role in keeping learning environments running smoothly.

No two days are the same. One day you might be deploying Apple devices, the next troubleshooting a network issue, assisting with Microsoft 365, or helping a teacher integrate technology into their classroom.

Please note: This role supports Apple environments. Applicants should have previous hands-on experience supporting macOS and iPadOS in a business or education setting.

What Success Looks Like

During your first six months you will:

- Build trusted relationships with the schools you support.

- Confidently manage onsite and remote support requests.

- Become familiar with Winthrop's systems, processes and service standards.

- Contribute to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

- Continue developing your technical skills through mentoring, training and certifications.

- Become a valued member of a collaborative engineering team that shares knowledge and supports one another.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Deliver onsite and remote technical support across Apple, Windows, Microsoft 365, cloud services, networking, servers and security platforms.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while keeping clients informed with clear and timely communication.

- Manage support requests through ConnectWise, ensuring accurate documentation, time recording and follow-up.

- Develop a strong understanding of Winthrop's support processes, systems and service methodology.





- Build trusted relationships with teachers, school leadership and ICT staff.

- Assist with deployments, upgrades, maintenance and proactive technology improvements.

- Deliver one-on-one guidance and occasional training to teachers and school staff.

- Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles and client guides.

- Ensure client environments remain compliant with relevant security policies and education requirements.

- Work independently while collaborating closely with the wider engineering and professional services teams.

Technology You'll Work With

You'll gain experience working with a broad range of technologies, including:

- Apple (macOS, iPadOS and Apple School Manager)

- Jamf School and Jamf Pro

- Microsoft 365 and Entra ID

- Windows desktop and Windows Server

- Google Workspace

- Network infrastructure including switching, wireless and security

- Cloud services

- ConnectWise Manage and ConnectWise Control

- A wide range of education technologies used throughout Western Australian schools

What Will Help You Succeed
Essential

- Demonstrated experience supporting macOS and iPadOS in either an education or corporate setting.

- Experience managing Apple devices using a Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform, preferably Jamf School or Jamf Pro.

- Strong troubleshooting skills across Apple hardware, software and end-user technologies.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

- Broad technical knowledge across networking, cloud services, Microsoft 365 and end-user computing.

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.

- A collaborative approach, knowing when to seek advice while confidently working independently.

- A genuine passion for learning and continuously developing your technical skills.

Highly Regarded

- Previous experience working within an education environment.

- Experience with Apple School Manager and Managed Apple Accounts.

- Experience using ConnectWise.

- Experience supporting Windows Server environments.

- Industry certifications from Apple, Jamf or Microsoft.





Candidates are encouraged to apply with either formal IT qualifications or relevant industry experience. Practical experience and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service are just as important as formal education.

Additional Requirements

To be successful in this role you'll need:

- A current Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle for travel between client sites.

- The ability to obtain a Working with Children Check.

- The ability to obtain a National Police History Check through the Western Australian Department of Education.

- Permanent Australian residency or Australian citizenship.

- To be based in Perth, Western Australia.
