We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Supervisor to support Energy Business Unit.

The commissioning supervisor is responsible for executing and supervising day-to-day commissioning activities on a project. This role ensures that testing, energisation, and system integration activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures, under the direction of the Commissioning Manager.

Key Responsibilities

- 1. Field Execution of commissioning activities
- Supervise commissioning tests on:
- HV and MV equipment
- LV systems and auxiliary supplies
- BESS systems (battery racks, PCS, EMS)
- Execute commissioning procedures, ITPs and test scripts




- Coordinate daily commissioning activities across multiple workfronts

- 2. Supervision and Team coordination

- Lead technicians, commissioning engineers, and subcontractors on site
- Allocate tasks and ensure work is completed as per schedule and priorities
- Act as primary point of contact for field-level execution issues
- Coordinate with construction teams to ensure systems are ready for testing

- 3. Safety and HV Operations

- Ensure all works are conducted in accordance with HV Safety rules and site procedures
- Implement permit-to-work systems, isolations and LOTO
- Support or Act as HV authorised person
- Conduct pre-starts and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards

- 4. Testing and Verification

- Supervise
- functional testing and pre-commissioning checks
- Protection Relay secondary Injection
- SCADA Point to point verification checks
- Equipment inspections and energisation readiness checks
- Verify systems are installed and configured according to design and specifications

- 5. Troubleshooting and Fault Finding

- Identify and resolve issues encountered during commissioning
- Apply structured fault-finding techniques:
- use of multimeters, IR,




- interpretation of drawings, schematics and logic diagrams
- step-by-step isolation and testing of problem areas.

- Escalate complex issues to the commissioning Manager or OEM specialists with clear diagnostic information

- 6. Documentation and Reporting

- Ensure field crew records test results, checksheets, and commissioning records
- Update Punchlists, defect registers, and progress reports
- Mark up drawings (red lines) to reflect as built conditions
- Provide daily reports on progress, issues and risks

- 7. Support for Energisation and Grid Compliance

- Assist with energisation activities:
- Pre-Energisation Checks

- Support grid compliance and testing activities

About You

- 5+ years’ experience in commissioning and testing of electrical systems
- Tertiary qualification in civil / electrical engineering or similar.
- Protection & control systems
- Renewable energy projects (Solar and/or BESS highly regarded)
- Experience with HV, MV & LV systems
- Knowledge of Australian standards, regulatory requirements, and testing procedures
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and delivering to project budgets
- 3-5 years’ experience with either an EPC Contractor, NER or NSPs.
- An Australian recognized engineering degree
- Proven leadership and presentation skill
- Work well under pressure
- Collaboration skill in multi-disciplinary organisation
- Ability to travel and work away from home as required
