About The Role
The Emergency Operations Manager role is responsible for the planning, management and evaluation of Emergency Management programs, projects and services associated with the prevention, preparedness, response and recovery of emergency incidents impacting on the Department for Education assets and personnel. The role applies a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and accuracy in communicating appropriately with a diverse range of clients and worksites.
The Emergency Operations Manager is also responsible for managing, monitoring and evaluating responses to critical incidents, acting as the Emergency Operations Coordinator within the department’s Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) when responding to major emergencies and providing expert advice to the Assistant Director, Business & Customer Services, Agency Security Advisor in the effective delivery of Emergency Management controls within the Department.

Desirable
- An appropriate tertiary qualification
- Diploma in Public Safety (Emergency Management)
- Qualifications in The Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System.
Special conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
ASO7 $116,089 - $125,490 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading
