Why this Role?
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Weekly/fortnightly mowing/trimming of all grass areas including ovals, maintaining existing gardens including regular weeding, regularly maintain and clearing drains and gutters; daily raking of sandpits
- Assist with a range of duties including the collection of waste, food and paper on school grounds, undertaking immediate action cleaning duties where necessary
- Assist with set up/take down etc for significant events such as major sporting events
- Security of facilities including the locking and unlocking of buildings (within core hours)
- Maintaining facilities including but not limited to buildings, seating, gates, amenities (excludes qualified trade work)
- Communicating and supporting on-site trades people/building companies as directed by the Principal/Business Manager
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment; safe storage and handling of chemicals,
fertilisers and fuels; bring to appropriate attention any safety hazards; manage equipment records; and maintain tools and equipment for repair services (as per manufacturer's service manual)
- Attend to/or arrange repairs and maintenance within the school, including those which relate to furniture and equipment; locks and windows; adjusting/adding chemicals as consistent with occupational, health and safety (WHS) guidelines and procedures); and school facilities
- Provide basic maintenance of equipment specific to schools including but not limited to mowers, cutters, power tools etc
- Work as a member of a team, contributing to our positive school culture

- Current Driver's Licence
- Some experience working with grounds & landscaping
- Be able to work with others
- Positive attitude and be able to achieve set tasks

Progressional roles show a salary range spanning two classifications. Appointment will be made at the level appropriate to skill and fulfilment of required criteria.
