As a Senior Lawyer within the Corporate Law team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal advice across a broad range of complex matters. Working within the Legal Services and Privacy Branch, you will provide practical, solution-focused guidance to senior stakeholders, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to the effective management of legal risks across the organisation. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, build strong stakeholder relationships, and help ensure the Agency meets its legislative and regulatory obligation.

The key duties of the position include:

To be successful in either opportunity, you will need to possess the following:

- Provide accurate, practical and solution-focused legal advice on complex matters, including employment law, privacy and information law, administrative law, statutory interpretation and legal drafting.
- Demonstrated experience identifying legal risks, analysing complex issues and delivering clear, concise advice that supports business outcomes and stakeholder needs.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, government agencies and external legal service providers, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Support legal governance and compliance obligations, including the implementation of privacy reforms and adherence to relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with sound judgement, professionalism and integrity.
- Strong leadership capability, including mentoring and developing legal professionals, managing competing priorities and contributing to a cooperative team environment.
- Relevant legal qualifications, admission as a legal practitioner in Australia, and a current practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).




- Minimum five years' post-admission experience, including substantial experience providing legal advice within government or a highly regulated environment
- Experience in employment law and/or privacy law will be highly regarded.

Eligibility

​Australian citizenship is a mandatory eligibility requirement. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain both a national police clearance and a Baseline security clearance, with the capacity to attain a higher-level clearance if required by the Agency.
