Position Overview:

Rux Energy, is scaling advanced nanomaterials technology for hydrogen storage, that potentially displaces diesel and directly addresses climate change through the elimination of carbon emissions. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and mission driven Business Analyst for commercial, strategic and financial analysis. Working with the CEO and leadership team, this is a rare opportunity to join one of Australia's leading deep tech clean energy companies. The role involves developing business and commercial strategies underpinned by sound financial analysis to address investor and governance requirements to grow the business. You’ll be working with a high performing technical and commercial team in a fast-paced learning and knowledge sharing environment.

This is a generalist, high impact role with no typical day. The work will involve strategic discussions with investors, government policy makers and financiers, requiring exposure and understanding of every part of the business - strategy, commercial, technology, manufacturing, operations. This is an opportunity to be on the frontline of the energy transition, driving toward our goal of abating at least 1 billion tonnes of CO2e each year by 2050.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Founder CEO and board on day-to-day priorities - briefing materials, presentation preparation for partners, clients and Government officials, follow-ups,

- Prepare investor updates, and executive presentations

- Track and analyse market, policy, and competitor developments in clean energy and gas storage sectors

- Help identify grant opportunities, contribute and coordinate submissions

- Support investor communications and updates

- Support deals and partner consortium relationships including the building of techno-commercial briefs, discussion papers, proposals, and sales and sales-technical presentation decks

- Contribute to government engagement - research, draft responses, and engagement on policy





- Build and maintain relationships with external partners and government policy makers

Qualifications and Skills:

- Degree in business, finance, engineering, science or a related field

- At least 5 years’ experience - consulting, a startup, investment, or a strategy function

- Ability to take the initiative and progress nascent ideas into strong proposals and strategies

- Great communications including writing skills

- The ability to develop attractive and impactful presentations

- Organised and reliable - you juggle multiple priorities and deliver on time

- Strong analytical and numerical skills including financial modelling, business cases

- The ability to research the hydrogen market

- High curiosity, low ego - you ask questions, are self aware, take feedback, love a coaching session and learn fast

- Fierce interest in climate, clean energy, deep technology, and the energy transition

- Inter-cultural awareness (as you’ll be working with partners from around the world, especially across Asia and Europe)

Nice to Have

- Experience in energy, cleantech, or deep tech

- Exposure to grant or government funding or bid processes

- Exposure to techno economic modelling / financial modelling

- Prior experience supporting a founder, C-suite exec, or investor

- Language skills in addition to English
