Business Overview / Scope of Position

Our clinic provides evidence-based positive behaviour support services to children and adolescents across the Perth metropolitan area. We work with children and adolescents with disability and/or mental health conditions to develop and implement behaviour support plans that improve quality of life, promote learning skills and reduce restrictive practices.

Your Role

Your key responsibility within our operations is to teach academic and life skills (social, emotional and intellectual) to children and adolescents with learning difficulties, particularly those diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, through use of the Clinic’s treatment programmes and recognised evidence‑based methods to promote development. You will teach and support parents and carers to use evidence‑based practices such as Natural Setting Training to facilitate their child’s or adolescent’s development, empower them to become independent learners, and represent the clinic within home and education‑based settings.

Key Tasks

- Conduct comprehensive functional behaviour assessments for children and adolescents with disabilities.
- Develop, implement, and review interim and comprehensive behaviour support and learning plans.
- Provide training and coaching to families, carers, and support workers.

- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support strategies.
- Maintain accurate, high‑quality clinical documentation and case notes.
- Liaise and collaborate with other members of the participant’s support team (e.g., OTs, speech pathologists, psychologists, support coordinators).
- Travel to client‑based locations throughout the Perth region to deliver in‑home or community‑based support.
- Participate in supervision, professional development, and interdisciplinary team meetings.

Qualification and Experience Requirements

- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree level qualification in Psychology or a related field.
- Experience working with children and adolescents with disabilities and mental health disorders.
- Current suitability to work as a PBS Practitioner at the Core, Proficient, Advanced, or Specialist levels, with an NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission outcome letter stating your provider number.

- Must hold a current Working with Children Check, a Federal Police Clearance, and a current NDIS Worker Screening Check. Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Australia (Australian citizenship or valid visa with permission to work).

Required Skills

- Experience working within an interdisciplinary team.
- Understanding of person/family‑centred planning principles.
- Well‑developed oral, written and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Disability Services Standards.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Legislation.
