Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) is a leading paediatric hospital in Melbourne and a cornerstone member of the Melbourne Children’s Campus.

About the Role

This casual position is within the Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Department. The Sleep Medicine Service provides accurate assessments of sleep disorders through polysomnography for children of all ages, both in-hospital and at home. The sleep scientist facilitates sleep studies and makes appropriate changes to ventilation or supplemental oxygen as per established procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

- Conduct and oversee polysomnography studies for paediatric patients.
- Interpret and report results.
- Adjust ventilation settings or supplemental oxygen in line with protocols.
- Collaborate with clinicians to optimise patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Science, or equivalent overseas qualification recognised by the national office of overseas skills.
- Significant experience working in a paediatric sleep unit.
- Significant ventilation experience working with CPAP and non‑invasive ventilation.

Other Requirements

- Current National Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
