The Wagga Wagga Base Hospital Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) program offers interested and committed SRMOs the prospect to work at an advanced level in radiology, providing exposure relevant to further specialist training.
Responsibilities
- Provide general radiology consultation for patients referred to the imaging department for radiological procedures/examinations.
- Design appropriate imaging examinations for patients in consultation with the treating team.
- Advise clinicians on appropriate diagnostic imaging pathways.
- Triage, booking and supervised performance of imaging guided procedures.
- Reporting of radiological examinations in a supervised environment.
- Attend MDT imaging meetings and education sessions.
- Participate in teaching and research/audits within the radiology department.
- Participate in postgraduate physics and anatomy courses required for basic radiology training.
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Unconditional general registration or eligible for unconditional registration with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated commitment to a career in Radiology and evidence of further advancing your skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to enable effective communication with peers, supervisors, nurses and allied health staff.
- Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of quality improvement programs relating to patient safety and care.
- Evidence of ongoing participation in continuing medical education and professional development and a commitment to teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent skills, judgement and expertise.
