- Perform Carpentry Trade Activities including the construction and maintenance of bridge structures across the region
- Daily duties will include, but not limited to steel element replacements, falsework and formwork, bearing and joint replacements and timber bridge maintenance and construction
- Be able to work autonomously with limited supervision and think on your feet to resolve issues
- Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage day‑to‑day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise
- Travel throughout the region and camp away from home, Monday to Friday, up to 90% of the year
- Work a 9‑day fortnight roster
About You
- You are a Trades Qualified Carpenter that enjoys working a high performing team and a challenging and rewarding career
- You must have at least 12 months of experience in bridge maintenance and construction or a civil construction environment
- You are a practical thinker,
quick learner and great communicator who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving hand tools and equipment within a team setting.
Qualifications and Licences
Required licences and tickets: White Card, valid driver’s licence, ability to work at heights. Candidates must also hold one of the following qualifications:
- Carpenter and Joiner
- Construction Carpenter
- Bridge and Wharf Carpenter
- Civil Engineering Construction Carpenter
- or Equivalent
We take WH&S; and fatigue management seriously. To be successful, you must reside within 100km of the South Tamworth depot.
