School of Health is seeking a Healthcare Simulation Support Officer to join our team in a part-time capacity. Based in Perth WA 6000, this role is essential to the delivery of high-quality vocational education and training in healthcare disciplines. As a Healthcare Simulation Support Officer , you will play a vital role in maintaining, preparing, and supporting our simulation laboratory environments, ensuring that students have access to safe, functional, and realistic learning experiences. This position directly impacts the educational outcomes of our students and the reputation of our institution as a leader in healthcare vocational training.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and maintaining simulation equipment, mannequins, and laboratory resources for student training sessions
- Conducting routine checks and safety inspections of all simulation laboratory equipment to ensure functionality and compliance with health and safety standards
- Supporting instructors and educators during practical training sessions by providing technical assistance and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilising simulation equipment in accordance with established protocols and infection control guidelines
- Maintaining detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory levels
- Identifying equipment faults or deficiencies and coordinating repairs or replacements with appropriate suppliers and technicians
- Assisting with the setup and breakdown of simulation scenarios and laboratory configurations
- Providing basic training and guidance to students on the safe use of laboratory equipment and facilities
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of laboratory operations and learning environments
- Supporting the development and maintenance of simulation laboratory resources and educational materials

What we're looking for

- A relevant qualification in Simulation technology, health sciences, or a related vocational field
- Demonstrated experience working in clinical simulation, or healthcare training environment




- Strong knowledge of infection control, health and safety regulations, and laboratory best practices
- Proficiency with cleaning, disinfection, and sterilisation procedures relevant to medical equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, instructors, and other team members
- Competence in basic troubleshooting and problem-solving of technical equipment
- A commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Physical capability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
- Preferred experience with simulation mannequins or medical training equipment
- Preferred understanding of vocational education and training principles
