Project Overview

Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure at the Eva Copper Mine Project in Cloncurry, QLD. This greenfield resource is poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland and is located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world‑class gold and copper mining and development company.

Job Summary

In this role, you will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.

Major Responsibilities

Work Planning & Packaging

- Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
- Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.

Material Management

- Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
- Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.

Quantities

- Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.

Safety / Quality Control

- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.

Technical

- Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.

System Turnover Coordinator

- Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.

STR / Subcontract Coordinator

- Reviews and approves inspection test plans.




- Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.

Education And Experience Requirements

- Required bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge And Skills

- Strong knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures and the interaction with other disciplines.
- Experience and proven ability to manage structural engineering packages.
- Experience in rigging construction practices and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction.
- Effective communication skills along with demonstrated supervision skills.
- Solid planning and problem‑solving skills.
- Work includes field inspections requiring physical capabilities: extensive walking in extreme heat and cold, climbing ladders, working on elevated platforms and scaffolds, crawling and crouching, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces for extended periods of time.
- Preference given to previous Bechtel experience.
- Experience managing technical services subcontracts is desirable.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H;).
- Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
