- Fulfil Alternate Underground Manager duties under WHS Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022
- Uphold highest safety standards in line with company policy and regulations
- Manage underground mining contractor to meet contractual and production targets
- Align short/medium-term mine plans with LOM design and budget
- Partner with contractor to deliver safe, on-design production
- Scope, resource, and oversee delivery of mine infrastructure via contractors
- Champion a safe, respectful workplace culture
- Collaborate with Geology to optimise resource production
- Lead and mentor technical staff
- Prepare operational and technical reports
- Develop systems, procedures, and standards
- Support operational and financial budget development
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
- WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
- Completion of Statutory WHS risk management units for First Class Mine Manager (Non-Coal) (AQF5) or actively working towards completion.
- 8+ years’ experience in underground development and production environments.
- A sound knowledge of statutory safety requirements.
- A proven history successfully managing the performance of mining contractor.
- Have an approach and communication style which supports the sharing of knowledge and professional development.
- Robust working knowledge and application of mining software.
- Current WA manual driver’s licence.
- Technical expertise in relation to underground mine design, drill and blast, ventilation, optimisation and planning.
- Excellent leadership skills to develop an effective team culture.
- Proficient with computer scheduling software (Deswik – highly regarded).
