Your New Role And Responsibilities

As a Java Engineer – Health Integration, you will design, build and support secure integration services that connect healthcare and enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build and support healthcare integration services using HL7 v2, FHIR and enterprise integration patterns.
- Develop secure APIs and interfaces using Java, SOAP/REST services and JSON/XML data formats.
- Implement complex, multi-step data transformation and validation logic to ensure data quality and interoperability.
- Build, customise and deploy integration solutions using Apache Camel and Apache Kafka across cloud‑native environments.
- Support deployments and operational activities while collaborating with delivery, platform and DevOps teams.

About You And What You’ll Bring

- Demonstrated experience building secure and compliant healthcare integrations using HL7 v2, FHIR and CDA standards.
- Strong Java development skills with hands‑on experience applying enterprise integration patterns and API‑based architectures.




- Experience working with Apache Camel and Apache Kafka in enterprise‑scale environments.
- Commitment to quality, with experience in unit, integration and API testing using JUnit and Bruno, as well as performance testing with Apache JMeter.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a collaborative approach and solid documentation practices.

Eligibility

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and be able to gain a baseline level security clearance.
