The ward doctor will provide cover to the wards via the Medical Officers Noticeboard (MON) for acute issues that cannot wait. The weekend Resident Medical Officer (RMO) will hold the after‑hours pager and attend clinical reviews. Medical Registrar and ICU team support are available during MET calls, with the ICU leading the call and handing over when appropriate. On‑call registrars from surgical, obstetrics & gynaecology, orthopaedics, and anaesthetics are rostered to provide additional support if required. Additional assistance is available from other Intern / RMOs throughout the day.
Responsibilities include coverage of medical, surgical, orthopaedic, rehabilitation, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, and palliative care teams, as well as care of paediatric and ED inpatients where inpatient beds are unavailable.
Qualifications: Candidates must be registered with AHPRA and have the right to work in Australia.
