Client & You:

Our client is a specialist Australian manufacturer designing and building special-purpose equipment for the defence sector, with 20+ products used in demanding environments, and a solid focus on Quality and Continuous Improvement. Established Sydney business, around 50 people and growing, ISO 9001 certified, with R&D; and production under one roof.

This would suit a Process Engineer, NPD Engineer, Project Engineer or Design Engineer with around 5 years under your belt. An engineer who's taken products from concept through to validated build and run root cause along the way. You'll lead projects across NPD, process improvement, capital equipment and production readiness, working directly with a Senior PM and Engineering Director, who'll back you.

The Role:

- Lead projects across NPD, manufacturing capability, process improvement and production readiness.
- Work with Quality, Production and R&D; from concept through to implementation.
- Build project scopes, business cases, timing plans and resource requirements with support, not from a template on your own.
- Support capital equipment procurement, installation and manufacturing scale-up.
- Identify risks and bottlenecks early and drive practical, hands-on fixes.




- Keep projects moving across internal teams, suppliers and stakeholders.

About You:

- Engineering background, mechanical, process, manufacturing or mechatronic.
- Around 5 years' hands-on experience in NPD, product development, process engineering or design within a technical manufacturer.
- Taken at least one product or process from concept through to validated build.
- CAD/PDM literate, comfortable with root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Confident holding your own with Quality, Production, R&D; and senior stakeholders.
- Australian citizen, Sydney-based or willing to relocate. Onsite role.
