Our client is a major NSW government authority that is responsible for building and managing the mission critical communications for emergency, essential and government services

Role Description:

The Construction Subject Matter Expert will be engaged on a long term contract to support the expansion and enhancement of the Public Safety Network; delivering increased outdoor and in-building coverage to ensure reliable critical communications for emergency services and government agencies across NSW.

The role will provide specialist technical capability across the delivery of telecommunications infrastructure projects - ensuring that construction activities, site performance, and operational readiness are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule

The role is significantly involved pre-construction to support procurement

Key Responsibilities:

- Work across engineering, commercial, construction, delivery partners, and suppliers to drive program performance, manage construction risks, and oversee the successful progression of sites from award through to Operational Acceptance
- Support procurement, tender evaluations, supplier engagement, proposed timelines and schedule reviews
- Tracking and reporting on delivery performance / SLA's
- Lead construction reviews, readiness assessments and operational validation activities.
- Coordinate stakeholders across commercial, construction and project delivery teams to deliver on critical program dependencies to meet schedule completion of sites.
- Manage and coordinate Free Issue Material (FIM) suppliers to ensure critical dependencies on equipment that supports project delivery requirements
- Manage technical delivery dependencies and construction related risks.




- Track and report on delivery performance, issues and pipeline status across all project stages.
- Ensure sites meet technical and operational requirements before progressing.

Skills and. Experience:

- Experience delivering telecommunications, infrastructure or construction projects
- Deep knowledge of supplier interactions, logistics, warehousing and the interchange between these and the project impacts
- Strong construction, commercial, and operational expertise - with a focus on driving safe, efficient, and successful project outcome to ensure the sites meet technical and operational requirements and are ready for operational release
- Experience guiding procurement in the pre-construction phase (tender evaluations, supplier engagement, proposed timelines and schedule reviews)
- Public Safety Network (PSN) or critical communications knowledge is advatageous
- In-Building Coverage (IBC) experience an advantage
- Project 25 (P25) experience or knowledge is helpful
- Strong adherence to safety is key - competency in overseeing SWMS (Safe Work Method Statement)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
