About the role
We are seeking an experienced Cultural Heritage Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal supervisory role based at Woleebee Creek, responsible for overseeing cultural heritage management and compliance on construction projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all cultural heritage protocols, procedures and statutory requirements are adhered to throughout project execution. This position bridges the gap between construction operations and cultural heritage preservation, making it essential to the successful and respectful completion of our projects. The role is to undertake duties relating to the organisation and supervision of cultural heritage officers from Traditional Owner groups in the Surat Basin requiring effective time management, communication and attention to detail. The position involves extensive administrative work and collaboration with project personnel to ensure the day to day running of the project is kept on-track using an inclusive approach in working with First Nations, culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all cultural heritage management activities on site, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and cultural protocols
- Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks to educate construction teams on cultural heritage sensitivity and requirements
- Monitor construction activities to identify potential cultural heritage risks and implement preventative measures
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of all cultural heritage inspections, incidents and management actions
- Liaise with Indigenous stakeholders, heritage consultants and regulatory authorities to ensure ongoing compliance and communication
- Respond promptly to cultural heritage discoveries or incidents,
implementing appropriate protocols and notifying relevant parties
- Manage and maintain cultural heritage site registers, maps and related documentation
- Provide training and mentoring to site staff regarding cultural heritage awareness and best practice
- Report on cultural heritage performance to project management and regulatory bodies as required
- Inspect work areas to ensure cultural heritage protection measures remain effective throughout project duration
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Cultural Heritage Supervisor or similar supervisory role within construction or related industries
- Strong knowledge of cultural heritage legislation, regulations and compliance requirements in Queensland and Australia
- Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous cultural heritage and sensitivity towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, contractors and regulatory bodies
- Supervisory experience with the ability to lead, motivate and manage construction site teams
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and documentation
- Knowledge of construction processes and site safety procedures
- Relevant qualifications in cultural heritage management, archaeology or Indigenous studies are highly desirable
- Proven computer literacy including Microsoft suite of programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- An open drivers' licence, General Construction Induction (blue/white card) and medical (or willingness to obtain a
medical).
- Respect for Aboriginal Culture, history and people with experience engaging with traditional owner groups.
- Understanding and appreciation of the importance of Health and Safety
