Advance Institute Australia is seeking an experienced and motivated Trainer and Assessor to deliver and assess the CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.

We are looking for an industry professional who is passionate about sharing their trade knowledge and developing the next generation of qualified painters and decorators.

Employment Type: Casual / Part-time / Full-time (Negotiable)
Commencement: Immediate

About the Role

As a Trainer and Assessor, you will deliver high-quality training and competency-based assessment for students enrolled in the CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating. The qualification provides trade outcomes for residential and commercial painting and decorating and prepares learners for employment as qualified Painter and Decorators.

You will ensure all training and assessment activities comply with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), the CPC Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package, and Advance Institute Australia's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging face-to-face and/or online training sessions.
- Conduct valid, reliable and compliant competency-based assessments.
- Facilitate practical workshops and supervise hands-on training activities.
- Assess students against the requirements of the CPC30620 qualification.
- Provide constructive feedback and learner support.
- Maintain accurate training, assessment and student records.
- Participate in assessment validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain current vocational competency and industry currency.
- Ensure compliance with ASQA Standards, training package requirements and workplace health and safety obligations.

Essential Requirements:



Training and Assessment Qualifications

Applicants must hold one of the following (or an equivalent credential recognised under current regulatory requirements):

- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- another approved training and assessment qualification.

Vocational Qualifications

Applicants must hold:

- CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, or
- CPC30611 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or a higher qualification in the painting and decorating field that demonstrates vocational competency relevant to the qualification being delivered).

Industry Experience

Applicants must demonstrate:

- A minimum of three years of recent industry experience as a qualified Painter and Decorator.
- Experience undertaking residential and commercial painting and decorating projects.
- Sound knowledge of:
- Surface preparation and finishing techniques.
- Decorative coatings and protective finishes.
- Wallpapering and decorative applications.
- Paint systems, materials and equipment.
- Protected work practices, including working at heights and scaffolding.
- Australian standards, workplace health and safety requirements and industry best practice.
- Current industry skills and knowledge relevant to painting and decorating.

Additional Requirements





- Demonstrated vocational competency relevant to CPC30620.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage and support adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining industry currency.
- Current Construction White Card (General Construction Induction) is highly desirable.

Desirable

- Previous experience delivering training within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Experience delivering apprenticeship training.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Management Systems (SMS).
- Knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
- Experience participating in assessment validation and moderation.
- Experience developing or reviewing training and assessment resources.
