Our kitchen produces a classic country pub menu using fresh, quality ingredients and is committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency and food safety.

Position 1 – Full Time Chef

The Wheatsheaf Hotel is seeking an experienced and qualified Chef to lead and support our kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with menu specifications.
- Develop and update menus, including seasonal specials and new menu items.
- Estimate food and labour costs and assist with kitchen budgeting.
- Supervise, train and mentor kitchen staff.
- Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Manage stock ordering, stock rotation and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS regulations.
- Maintain efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.





Essential Skills & Experience

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 12 mths' relevant full-time commercial kitchen experience.
- Demonstrated experience in menu planning, food preparation and kitchen supervision.
- Strong knowledge of food safety legislation and commercial kitchen operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Salary: From $79,423 per annum plus superannuation, dependent on skills and experience.
