PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Provide superior skilled financial accounting, taxation and regulatory reporting services for Power and Water Corporation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
- Manage the general financial accounting functions including.
- preparation and review of month-end reporting tasks including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries,
- Accountable for managing relationship with relevant internal and external stakeholders such as the external auditors and others.
- Lead the planning, coordination, preparation and review of the Corporation's Consolidated Annual Financial Statements, ensuring compliance
with applicable accounting standards, legislative requirements and reporting deadlines.
- Research emerging technical accounting (AASB) issues and relevant taxation developments, providing expert accounting advice and
coordinating specialist tax input where required to assess impacts on the Corporation's business and regulatory environment.
- Exercise a high degree of professional judgement and autonomy in managing financial accounting activities, identifying risks and issues, and
implementing appropriate solutions with minimal supervision.
- Identify, lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of financial accounting,
taxation and reporting processes.
- Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to provide technical accounting expertise, financial insights and recommendations that support
organisational decision-making and strategic outcomes.
- Contribute to and support planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
- Provide effective leadership, resource management, workflow management and undertake continuous improvement with a significant
emphasis on improving and enhancing staff skill levels.
