Crew Member – Fish & Chips Store (Rockingham Beach)

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Crew Member to join our busy fish and chips team. In this role, you’ll support both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensuring quick, friendly service and high-quality food for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook fish, chips, and other menu items to standard recipes.
- Operate deep fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Front-of-House Service
- Take customer orders, answer questions about the menu, and provide recommendations.
- Serve food and drinks promptly and accurately.
- Handle cash and card payments using the POS system.
- Customer Experience
- Greet customers with a friendly attitude and ensure a positive dining experience.
- Resolve minor customer issues or escalate to management when needed.
- Ingredient & Stock Management
- Monitor and restock ingredients (fish, potatoes, batter, seasonings, condiments).
- Keep front and back areas stocked with packaging, napkins, sauces, and other supplies.
- Food Safety & Hygiene
- Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines, including handwashing and PPE use.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment at all times.
- Cleaning & Kitchen Organisation
- Clean and sanitise work surfaces, equipment, fryers, and utensils regularly.
- Keep the kitchen, counter,



and dining/takeaway areas tidy and well-presented.
- Order Fulfilment & Quality Control
- Work with the team to ensure orders are accurate and served on time.
- Check food quality and presentation before serving.
- Teamwork & Communication
- Communicate clearly with team members during busy periods.
- Support colleagues in both front and back areas as needed.
- Waste Management & Equipment Care
- Dispose of food waste and packaging correctly.
- Report any faulty equipment or maintenance issues to management.

Requirements

- Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen or takeaway environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working on your feet for long periods and handling light lifting.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
