Remuneration package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information

Drummond Memorial Public School is located in Armidale, in rural north NSW. The school serves 215 students across various educational settings, with 40% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander. It offers 9 mainstream classes from Kindergarten to Year 6, along with an Inclusion and Support Unit comprising of two Multi-Categorical classes, a Tutorial Centre (ATLC), and a Suspension Centre (Karayuna).

The school is dedicated to enhancing student learning and wellbeing through tailored programs. The staff focuses on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and utilises evidence-informed literacy programming to support student growth.

Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach Hearing Impairment (Primary/ Secondary). Expertise in Auslan is highly desirable.

2. Proven expertise in assessing student needs to develop, deliver, monitor, and evaluate targeted learning plans to address the complex needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across various educational settings.

3. Highly developed communication,



interpersonal and organisational skills with a proven capacity to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and external agencies to meet the needs of students with hearing loss.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching prospect.
