About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and organised Despatch Coordinator / Manager to support daily despatch, logistics, and operations administration across the business.

This role suits candidates from strong mid-level operations coordinators through to experienced senior operators. The scope and autonomy of the role will naturally scale based on experience.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Warehouse, Project Managers, Transport, and Operations leadership, playing a key role in keeping projects moving in a fast-paced workplace.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Coordinating daily express orders and urgent despatch requests
- Supporting freight and logistics coordination for Brisbane and interstate projects
- Liaising with freight providers for road freight, express transport, and national projects
- Supporting fleet and vehicle coordination, including trucks and equipment
- Assisting with rosters, shift allocations, and labour coordination
- Providing operations administration support to the Operations Office
- Raising and managing purchase orders and dealing with suppliers
- Working closely with Sales and Project Managers to support event delivery
- Helping resolve time-critical issues in a high-pressure environment
- Supporting safe work practices across despatch, warehouse, and fleet operations

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

- Experience in despatch, logistics, warehousing, or operations/admin coordination
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment




- Robust organisation and communication skills
- Confidence dealing with multiple stakeholders and suppliers
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail

Highly Regarded:

- Forklift licence
- Truck licence
- Experience with freight coordination or national logistics
- Exposure to event, exhibition, or project-based operations

Safety, Chain of Responsibility & Systems

Safety is a core part of how we operate at Moreton Hire. This role plays an important part in supporting safe systems of work across despatch, logistics, fleet, and warehouse operations.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting safe work practices across despatch, warehouse, fleet, and transport activities
- Working within Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations relating to freight, vehicle movements, scheduling, and load management
- Assisting with compliance around vehicle use, fatigue management, and safe loading practices
- Taking ownership of learning and using our internal safety and compliance software, with training provided
- Supporting accurate record-keeping, reporting, and operational compliance through our systems
- Escalating risks, incidents, or safety concerns as required
- Working closely with Operations and Warehouse teams to ensure safety procedures are always followed

You don’t need to be a safety specialist — but you must be willing to engage with our safety systems and processes and take responsibility for doing things the right way, even in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.
