Summary

Our client MNI ElectroSpark All Trades Services Pty Limited is seeking to add an Accountant to its Greenacre-based operations. The position will support accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, payroll, project costing and management decision-making across a busy multi-trade services environment. The successful appointee will help strengthen financial controls, improve reporting processes and maintain reliable accounting systems as the business continues to grow.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Review and approve accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll output prepared by the accounts team; review and sign off general ledger reconciliations and resolve exceptions.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial models supporting operational and strategic business objectives.
- Monitor project costs, revenue, margins and financial performance across multiple trade contracts.
- Complete month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and review BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll and other statutory reporting obligations.
- Design and maintain the job costing framework, including cost allocation and overhead recovery methodology; analyse job-level cost and margin performance.
- Investigate financial variances and provide practical recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain effective internal controls protecting company assets and financial information.
- Coordinate audit requirements and respond to queries from auditors, advisers and regulatory authorities.




- Advise operations managers on contract cost performance, investigate cost variances and recommend corrective action.
- Maintain and improve accounting systems, reporting tools and automated financial processes.
- Prepare and appraise cash flow forecasts, assess working capital and financing requirements, and liaise with the company's financiers.
- Provide timely financial insights and reports supporting management planning and decision-making.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

- Relevant bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in accounting, finance or a closely related professional discipline.
- At least three years’ demonstrated accounting experience, preferably within trades, contracting, project-based or multi-service business environments.
- Strong experience in preparing financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, reconciliations and statutory reporting obligations.
- Practical knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements, including BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll and superannuation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, month-end processes and general ledger integrity.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero or MYOB, together with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills for reviewing project costs, financial performance, variances, cash flow and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills, with accuracy and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
