Job description
Job Responsibilities:
1. Oversee Daily Financial Operations: Manage routine accounting functions across multiple dealerships, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
2. Prepare Monthly Financial Reports: Compile and present monthly management reports, including Profit & Loss statements and forecasts, to provide insights into financial performance.
3. Monitor Financial Health: Regularly assess cash flow, budgets, and conduct variance analysis to identify and address financial discrepancies.
4.Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain adherence to tax and financial regulations, ensuring all dealership operations comply with applicable laws.
5. Manage Vehicle Inventory Accounting: Maintain accurate records of vehicle stock, including cost allocation and valuation adjustments, to reflect true inventory value.template.net
6. Lead Month-End Closing Processes: Coordinate end-of-month procedures, including reconciliations and financial close, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
7. Analyse Dealership Performance Metrics: Evaluate key financial data specific to dealership performance, such as vehicle sales, service department profitability, and inventory trends, to inform strategic decisions.
8. Oversee Account Reconciliations: Supervise the reconciliation of accounts, including vehicle inventory, warranties, and customer deposits,
to ensure accuracy and completeness.
9. Maintain Accounting Ledgers: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting ledgers, reflecting all financial activities within the dealership.
10. Manage Tax and Payroll Obligations: Oversee the accurate calculation, reporting, and submission of Goods and Services Tax (GST), payroll tax, and other dealership-related obligations.
11. Other ad hoc duties assigned by management team.
Qualifications:
1.Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
2. Proven experience as a Financial Accountant for at least 3 years, preferably within Australia's automotive or retail industry.
3. Robust understanding of dealership-specific financial metrics, inventory management, and operational workflows.
4. Proficiency in accounting software, dealership management systems (DMS), and advanced MS Excel skills.
5. Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
7. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy.
