As a Field Officer, you’ll be part of a supportive team delivering surveillance, treatment and property-management activities across South East Queensland. Our teams cover a broad geographic area and operate from locations including Burleigh Heads, Berrinba, Wacol, Virginia, Laidley and Mutdapilly. Depending on operational needs and available vacancies, you may be based at one of these locations and work across the surrounding region. Your days will be diverse and may include inspecting properties, applying bait treatments, speaking with members of the public and completing accurate field records.
This isn’t a desk job. You’ll spend much of your day outdoors and on your feet, working in a range of weather conditions and walking across different types of terrain, including uneven, steep or challenging ground. For people who enjoy being active, working outside and having variety in their day, this can be a highly rewarding role. We also know it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, so we encourage you to consider whether the outdoor and physical nature of the work is a good fit for you.
What you’ll do
- Conduct visual surveillance and apply bait treatments to support fire ant management.
- Visit and move safely around residential, rural, commercial and other properties.
- Collect accurate information and complete daily reporting and recordkeeping.
- Work outdoors in varied conditions and locations across South East Queensland.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe workplace.
- Work collaboratively with your team to achieve shared operational goals.
- Provide friendly and professional face-to-face service to property owners and members of the public.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to know everything on day one. We’re looking for people who bring a positive attitude, are ready to learn and take pride in doing a good job.
You’ll be someone who:
- is enthusiastic, dependable and comfortable working as part of a team
- communicates clearly and treats people with respect
- enjoys practical, active and outdoor work
- can work safely in varying weather and across uneven terrain
- is committed to accurate recordkeeping and following procedures
- holds a current driver’s licence
- is willing to complete any required training and certifications.
To apply for this role, you will need to submit the following:
- A cover letter telling us why you are interested in the role and how your skills and experience make you a good fit.
- Your current resume highlighting your relevant work experience and any recent positions you have held.
Pay: $60,918.00 – $65,849.00 per year
Licence/Certification:
- C Class drivers licence (Preferred)
