About the role

The Clinical Nurse provides nursing and/or midwifery services across various health settings, applying clinical experience and knowledge to deliver quality care.



The role is responsible for own practice, delegated activities, supporting less experienced staff, and contributing to assigned clinical portfolios

Key duties of the role

Provides person-centred nursing care and case management within Infant and Perinatal Mental Health services, including client assessment, care planning, therapeutic interventions, and multidisciplinary team support.
Promotes a positive learning environment, contributes to service improvement, and supports quality and safety initiatives
Support the Nurse Unit Manager, Principal Nurse Lead, and Nurse Educators to maintain a learning culture through staff development, reflection, and professional learning support
Contribute to the development and implementation of practice guidelines, protocols/audits and quality indicators

Skills and Experience

Registered Nurse/Midwife with current registration and practising certificate with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
Enrolled in an approved mental health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice
Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in a relevant nursing practice area
Demonstrated experience in clinical practice, leadership, and supporting less experienced staff and students




Knowledge of relevant healthcare standards, legislation, quality improvement, and contemporary nursing practices
