About the role:
Ethical Hire is currently looking for Disability Support Workers whom have experience caring for participants with complex behaviours and support needs.
Position requirements:

- Completed or near completion certificate III, IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Disability services
- Ability to be a team player
- Ability to work independently with disabled individuals to achieve social and self-care goals
- Positive attitude with nurturing and kind nature
- Excellent costumer service skills
- Demonstrative reliability, punctuality, and trustworthiness
- Demonstrate knowledge of standard food handling procedures
- Ability to work with care plans
- Ability to record and maintain accurate non-judgmental information
- NDIS Screening Check
- Updated first aid and CPR
- Current Working with Children check
- Australian Drivers Licence and use of own car

Preferred Criteria:

- Updated Asthma First Aid for Workplaces certificate
- Updated Manual Handling certificate

For the Job

- Provide participants with support with general household tasks such as cooking and serving meals, cleaning premises, laundry and ironing, etc.
- Assist participants with personal care including personal activities, showering, dressing, feeding, and getting ready for educational and recreational activities.
- Help participants develop daily living and life skills to become as independent as possible
- Provide participants with community access and social and recreational support including social, civic, and creative community participation
- Provide companionship and support to participants during daily activities




- Provide therapeutic support by implementing plan/program including behaviour observation and support by understanding participant triggers and actions as required
- Report all incidents concerning aggressive behaviour, sexual behaviour, or verbal behaviour of concern of participants immediately as required
- Assist participants with travel/transport to group and centre based activities
- Assist participants with administrating their medication if required
- Encourage participant in building their self-image and confidence
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Actively contribute to the business in a positive manner
- All other duties as directed

Location and the shift details:

- looking for Vietnamese speaking support worker in Dandenong - The shift is 24/7 so the support workers and requires Personal Care (Personal care such as dressing, showering, toileting, changing an incontinence pad and urinary bottle, feeding drinking. Basic domestic tasks such as meal preparation, cooking and maintaining a clean environment (bedding, cleaning the areas) Manual handling required, 2:1 supports for all transfers for getting out of the bed including: floor hoist, commode and wheelchair.



Medication assistance required, all tablets to be taken orally, no medication via injection)

- Looking for Arabic speaking female (preferably Lebanese Arabic) in Northern Suburbs for different participants - the worker required to have experience working with Autistic Children.
- Thursdays fortnightly (10:30AM-1:00PM) in Greenvale – In home support
- Tuesdays 12:00pm to 4:00pm in Mickleham - In home support
- And 6 hours support per day in Coburg – In home support and maybe community access

- Looking for female support worker in Glen Iris (with clear English & being patient) – for Home care and Community access Wednesday 9am to 12pm

- Looking for Turkish speaking support worker in Keysborough for Monday, Tuesday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 11am to 5pm. The tasks are included in personal care, cooking, community access, domestic tasks.

- Looking for Karen Speaking support worker in Werribee for community access and personal care. The shift requires of traveling to CBD occasionally.

- Looking for Male support worker in Richmond area for Tuesday 10am to 1pm - Personal Care and Community access needed - please note that the participant is required to have Insulin injection assistance.
