Assure Consulting is recruiting on behalf of our valued client for an experienced Barista to join a busy and well-established café in Pinjarra, Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

As a Barista, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Preparing consistently high-quality espresso-based coffees, teas, cold beverages, and specialty drinks.
- Operating commercial espresso machines, coffee grinders, and café equipment safely and efficiently.
- Calibrating coffee grinders and adjusting extraction to maintain beverage quality throughout service.
- Delivering exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, answering product enquiries, and providing recommendations.
- Processing orders using the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately.
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the coffee station, dining area, and service counters.
- Assisting with food preparation, plating, and serving light café meals when required.
- Restocking coffee beans, milk,



beverages, pastries, and other café supplies.
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to management.
- Following food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Assisting with opening and closing duties, including cleaning coffee equipment and preparing the café for daily operations.
- Working collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Maintaining a positive and professional attitude while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Essential Selection Criteria

Applicants should possess the following:

- Minimum 1 year of recent Barista experience in a café, coffee shop, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Demonstrated experience operating commercial espresso machines and preparing a variety of coffee beverages.
- Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, milk texturing, and latte art.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional presentation and positive attitude.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings,



and public holidays where required.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

Preferred Qualifications

- Certificate III in Hospitality (or equivalent qualification) is preferred.
- Food Safety Certificate (desirable).
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate (desirable if alcohol service is available).
- First Aid Certificate (advantageous but not essential).
