IKAD Engineering is a locally owned engineering firm specializing in the marine, mining, mineral processing and oil & gas industries. We are looking for a couple of experienced Boilermaker/Welders to join our team on a permanent full time basis.
The Role
This role requires a commitment to working as part of a team, adaptability to a changing workplace, the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and flexibility to work potential overtime hours when required. General duties for this role include but are not limited to:
- Reading and interpreting drawings or taking verbal instructions to mark out, cut, weld and assemble steel;
- Perform welding in accordance with approved weld procedures and codes;
- Interpret welding symbols to ensure correct welding techniques;
- Carry out basic maintenance of welding machine and equipment to keep a clean and safe work area; and
- Follow all workshop and site safety requirements.
The successful candidates must have previous workshop experience and be able to demonstrate the following essential personal attributes and skills:
- Sound knowledge all aspects of fabrication, including structural, plate work & piping with carbon steel & exotic materials
- FCAW/GTAW welding experience
- Cert III Heavy Fabrication
- 2+ years’ post trade experience
- Physically fit & enthusiastic
- Ensuring all activities are completed in a protected and efficient manner
- Identify and report potential safety hazards and take appropriate actions
- A strong problem solving ability
Benefits
- Secure permanent full-time position
- Day shift 6.30am – 3pm with potential overtime with a great pay rate of $80,000 - $90,000.
- Located in Rozelle, NSW (no FIFO)
