We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Property & Development team in Melbourne.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Matter and file management including opening and closing matters, conflict checks, client engagements
and maintaining daily electronic and physical filing.

- Prepare, format, and amend documents and correspondence using precedents.

- Proactive diary and inbox management of lawyers.

- Conducting ASIC, PPSR, title and instrument searches, and obtaining property certificates.

- Liaising with clients and stakeholders to build strong working relationships.

- Printing, filing and general administrative support.

- Monthly billing, invoicing and client reporting.

- Backup support and assistance within team.

- Maintains cyber security at all times. Cultivate an awareness of security risks, stay informed of latest
cyber threats, instil best cybersecurity practises and take practical steps to protect the firm and client
from cyberattacks.

Skills/Knowledge

- Accurate typing and proofreading skills.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Skilled telephone manner and the ability to field calls where appropriate.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent organisational and administrative ability.

- Proficient in MS Office suite. Exposure to a document management system e.g. iManage / Caseflow /

- Aderant is preferred.

- Familiarity with PEXA and SPEAR highly regarded.

Experience

- Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant – Property experience is preferred.
