About this Program

Wellways has recently partnered with Capital Health Network PHN to deliver the Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program (CPSP) to support adults in the ACT who experience moderate to severe mental health challenges that significantly impact everyday life, but who are not currently supported through the NDIS or other funded programs.

About the opportunity

As Recovery Support Worker, you'll provide practical, community-based support to help people regain, keep and improve their psychosocial skills, including self-management skills, daily living skills and community connection. Essential to sustaining recovery is that Recovery Support Workers work not only with individuals, but also with families, carers, friends, kin and community groups to build robust and natural support networks. Your role will include:

- Supporting people to identify and pursue their personal recovery goals
- Building the confidence and skills needed to flourish independently
- Promoting inclusion and reducing stigma in community settings
- Advocating for and creating communities that value people with mental health challenges

You will need:

- Completion of the Certificate 4 in Mental Health, or in Community Services, or equivalent practical experience




- Capability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Satisfactory Police check and Working with Children Check
- Right to Work within Australia
- Completion of NDIS Quality and Safeguards Module 'Quality, Safety and You'
- The ability to undertake some travel and current Driver License
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
