Gilani Engineering is seeking a practical and experienced Engineer with robust hands-on workshop experience to support fabrication, assembly, and technical project execution. This role is ideal for an engineer who is comfortable working both on the shop floor and in a technical coordination capacity.
The successful candidate will contribute to production activities, assist with technical problem-solving, and ensure engineering standards are maintained across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical support in fabrication and assembly operations
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of engineered products
- Troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues on-site or in the workshop
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and project teams
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Support continuous improvement in workshop processes
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field
- Proven hands-on experience in workshop, fabrication, or manufacturing environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to workplace safety
Preferred (Advantageous)
- Experience in fabrication, welding, or structural assembly
- Experience in automotive or engineering project environments
- Familiarity with Australian standards
